Saying goodbye to Schedule Five #yesforwales

Classic contribution to the referendum debate on Assembly powers with thanks to the Syniadau blog for bringing it to my attention. Simple message really, vote yes on Thursday.

Is it a coincidence that this post should be preceeded by one which talks about "scrutiny".
Are you sure that a yes vote will give us more scrutiny and not less.

It won't give you any more scrutiny but nor will it give you any less. MPs do not scrutinise legislation they decide whether requests for competence fit in with the relevasnt Act of Parliament. All of the actual legislation comes after that and none of it is looked at by MPs. That is why the process is unnecessary, expensive and bureaucratic and needs to be scrapped.

Raises the question Why was it there in the first place?
