Learning Nothing
It was said of the Bourbons that they learnt nothing and forgot everything. Labour lost in Crewe and Nantwich when they fought an old style class-based campaign that alienated and failed to resonate with the electorate.Judging by this leaflet they look set to repeat the mistake in Norwich North. This is apparently a genuine piece of literature circulated in that by-election. However, important as it is to retain the ban on fox hunting, it is doubtful if that is the major motivating factor for electors when they go and vote on Thursday.
The news I have heard from the by-election is that the Labour vote has collapsed and that they will be lucky to come third. We will have to see what occurs when all the votes are counted.
