About Last night

One of the features of Kirsty Williams' campaign website is that it has a blog, largely written by members of her campaign team but occasionally by Kirsty herself. Today Kirsty reflects on Obama's win last night:

Barack and the Democrats have smashed ceiling after ceiling in this election campaign. We in Wales will be smashing our own ceiling in the next few weeks, electing the first female leader of any Welsh political party.

It’s not just that ceiling I want to see us smash though. As the world turns to a new generation of leaders with Barack in America and Tavish Scott and Nick Clegg in Scotland and the UK there should be no doubt about the opportunity we Welsh Liberal Democrats find ahead of us. I have a vision for us to succeed, raising the bar on our achievements in Wales, just like Barack Obama has done for the democrats in America. Being left behind should not be an option for the party or for the country.

Whilst on the subject of Glass Ceilings.... Is there any chance of the Performance Indicator for Women in Senor Management Positions within our 22 Local Authorities in Wales, being re-introduced on the Local Government Data Unit for Wales score sheet?
