The place to be

A new guide by travel writer Paul Gogarty has named the Corus steel works at Port Talbot as one of the best places in the UK to watch sunsets. It is on a list that also include the Great Orme at Llandudno, St Ives in Cornwall and Margate Harbour.

Mr. Gogarty writes: "The shimmering effect the steel works has on the sunset is simply sensational. Margam Park is the perfect place to pull over and take it all in."

I do pass this landmark every day I travel to and from Cardiff and can vouch for it as a spectacular part of the urban landscape. I cannot say however, that I have ever passed it at sunset. Clearly, I will have to alter my routine one day to experience the effect for myself.

I'm surprised that no-one has commented on this yet!
