Showing us the money
Back from the Eisteddfod gratified that by and large the rain held off and I even at one stage found myself sitting in a deckchair in blazing sunshine partaking in the Oxfam picnic (Fairtrade Chocolate fountain and fruit juice) whilst listening to Gwyneth Glyn deliver a short concert.
Having had time to read the Western Mail now I wonder whether we have strayed into self-flagellation for Tories week. In their relentless search for summer headlines they have leapt feet first into the discussion of members' allowances by publishing the full details of their accomodation claims last year.
Now I have no problems with this information being made public, indeed I have actively argued for full publication for some time, however, as the Assembly Commission is due to publish details for all sixty Assembly Members next week it does strike me as odd that the 12 Conservative members might want to single themselves out for special attention.
We will now spend the next week wondering what essential work Nick Bourne carried out in his bathroom that cost taxpayers £1,500 until further talking points are made available by the publication of spending records for the rest of us.

He should have waited for the sale at B&Q. Perhaps it is all part of a clever Tory plan to discredit the Assembly. Look at poor Alun Cairns so frightened of driving home in the dark to the Vale that he has to stay in the Bay.Pity the poor workers from Bridgend and other places who commute at all hours to and from Cardiff. I know young men and women who have to do an eighty hour shift in retail until 9am in th evening. Then drive home and they are expected in work the following day often in the morning on a different shift. Not for them the luxury of the flat paid for by the taxpayer. The gulf between the Welsh political class and the werin gets wider as each day passes.
