Liberal Democrat Leader resigns

The BBC are reporting that the Leader of the Scottish Liberal Democrats, Nicol Stephen has resigned to spend more time with his family. Frankly, the decision has taken everybody by surprise.

Still at least he made his decision and went straight away - no hanging around for months, leaving his party in limbo.

Nicol is staying on as an MSP.
Comments:
"... no hanging around for months, leaving his party in limbo"; surely you are not referring to who I think you are refering to?

Maybe it was better for Nicol to go quickly as he had presided over quite an unsuccesul period for the Scottish Lib Dems.

But Mike German has ruled over succesful consolidation for your party. I think it is only right that the Welsh Lib Dems have had 18 months to come to terms with his departure and I strongly hope that he changes his mind and hangs around until the general elections.

As this discussion has degenerated into a Mike German confidence platform, can I add questionand a comments:-
Questions - (1) where do Wales Lib Dems stand on the "dot.CYM" web debate;
also - (2) as Mike German AM made a total "ass" of himself by saying Wind Turnbines worked by storing electricity when the wind was blowing and releasing the stored Energy when there was no Wind - and refusing to retract that nonsense when asked about batteries the size of Ireland, do the Lib Dems have confidence in Mike Gererman AM?

The Welsh Liberal Democrats support the dotCym campaign. If you use the search facility you will find a number of posts on this blog on the subject. I was also instrumental in getting the Assembly Commission formally behind the campaign.

Mike German has given the kite newspaper a very interview this month... Peter's blog is simply the best !
