A question of pronounciation

Interesting little postscript in this morning's Western Mail regarding yesterday's poll on 'Who runs Wales?'. Apparently, it could be Plaid Simroo:

Rev Aled Edwards, chief executive of Cytun, Churches Together in Wales, and a former Commissioner for Racial Equality, said, “I was rung up last Sunday afternoon and asked to take part in the poll. I was rather surprised when the interviewer referred to ‘Plaid Simroo’. It seems to me that some people would be confused by this, and it might affect the results.”

It is nice to see that we can rely on pollsters for some accuracy in their polling.
Comments:
The Western Mail are fine ones to report about that kind of thing. They can't even get the name of Owain Glyndwr correct on St Davids Day!

Don't worry Peter your colleagues in Bridgend has just approved a consultants report on retailing which on Page 40-41 omits the fact that both Swansea and Llanelli both have Debenhams stores. As a result they recommend that Bridgend should try to attract Debenhams in order to capture in their words shoppers from Swansea. The report was paid for by the Council and the Assembly. Obviously none of the officers or councillors bothered to read it . Anyone who scans the report which is on the council's website would have picked up the error in less than 5 minutes. Yet another example I'm afrid of consultants based in London not having a clue about Wales.
