Another endorsement
Back in January I commented on the endorsement from Peter Hain that appears on the website of Picture Financial Services. At the time, whilst responding to comments, I stated that "It is not usual for companies to use comments by ministers as a marketing tool in this way. Has Hain actually requested that the endorsement be removed from the website?" Well it appears I was wrong.
Whilst surfing the net in search of a suitable birthday treat for my wife I came across the webpages for The Towers Hotel in Jersey Marine, a very nice establishment situated in the Aberavon constituency. There on the front page is the following:
With its signature tower commanding views of the Gower Peninsular, its high quality service and friendly personal touch, the Towers Hotel is one of the finest in Wales. Peter Hain - Secretary of State for Wales and Northern Ireland
No doubt this quotation was culled from some official function which Mr. Hain attended. I wonder how many other businesses do the same thing with official government press releases. Still, if Mr. Hain should wish to pop back into the Tower Hotel he will no doubt be gratified to discover that their Spa offers a full body spray tan.
