Open and Transparent
Fundamental reforms to the law are needed to help make the process of awarding peerages more transparent, the Commons Public Administration Committee will say today.
Maybe an election is the mechanism they are looking for.

Should they make the house of lords elected I hope there would be radical reforms to differentiate it from the commons. Another House of Commons is something we definitely don't need.
I have in recent years been impressed by the various positions the house of lords have adopted, especially in regards to ID Cards and Detention without trial. I agree reform is necessary but it would be a shame if the Lords were reduced to just another lot of electioneers.
