Presiding Office revisited
It seems that a consensus is emerging that if the Plaid-Labour Coalition goes ahead next week then the existing Presiding Officer and his Deputy will remain in post. This will require a motion to be passed by two thirds of the AMs present to override the requirements of the Government of Wales Act 2006.
The only way that this will not happen is if Dafydd Elis-Thomas is offered and accepts a Ministerial post. My information is that the Tories would not oppose a motion to override Standing Orders so as to retain the existing team. My group has not discussed it.

Thanks for the correction on my blog Peter!
The problem with Assembly votes is for viewers to work out what has been passed and what has not, despite the fleeting subtitles. Perhaps the Llywydd could actually announce what the motion or amendment is during the vote instead of merely numbering them. The Assembly website seems to only make things more confusing rather than less.

Yes, I know. At times some of the AMs have difficulty following what is going on judging by the instances when I have to assist them.
