Is it Christmas already?

I have just been out leafleting only to find myself having to fight my way past an eight foot high inflatable Santa Claus to get at a letterbox. Where is Mick Bates when you need him?

Probably getting ready for this : THOUSANDS of Santas from around the world will gather in Mid Wales on Sunday for a record-breaking charity fun run.

Entry to the run costs £10, which includes a Santa suit, and all runners have to do is raise a minimum of £20 sponsorship towards Newtown and District Dial A Ride and other charities. An event organiser said, "We will be going for the Guinness World record again and will try to beat our standing record. We are hoping to attract more than 10,000 Santas in one day."

The adult run starts at 11am and there is a mini run for juniors, plus giant inflatables and street entertainment.

I've just got back from Newtown where I joined the 1,000 other Santas and yes, both Mick Bates and Lembit Opik were there. You won't be surprised to learn that neither of them left the start/finish line.

Typical bloody professional politicians - hapy to be associated with the glory but not prepared to put in any of the work!

All credit to Glyn Davies AM - I noticed him running with the rest of us - as I over took him!
