25 things to make Wales even better

Just in case you are really depressed by our sudden disappearance from the map the Western Mail has an article on how we can make Wales even better. Their suggestions include Harvey Nicks, televised netball, a gallery of modern art or a centre for contemporary art, a premiership football team and a triumphant rugby team. I am not too sure about the cold lager in McDonalds but I can certainly recommend the microwave hot bunnies for those cold winter nights.

Thing to make Wales Better: I think in Wales that we get too much in the habit of knocking what we’ve got !

I couldn’t believe in the spring this year, we were considering closing down the National Botanical Gardens in Llanarthney, Carmarthernshire. I couldn’t see the Government in Westminster allowing Kew Gardens to close, so why were we considering closing down these Gardens????????

Personally, I would like to see the set-up of a Welsh National Arboretum, to rival Westonbirt (The National Arboretum) in South Gloucestershire. That way, I won’t have to go over the bridge to have a walk in one of the most spectacular woodland environment in Europe.
