Golden Goodbyes again

Whilst Bridgend voted unanimously to reject the Golden Goodbye scheme earlier this week, Swansea Council formally adopted the scheme. They voted in favour by 15 votes to 14. All those who could have benefited from the money were excluded from voting. Whether I could or could not have taken part in the vote after 19 years of service was immaterial. I was on my way to Wrexham and was unable to attend.

Absolutely - what the public want to know, Peter, is are you going to take the cash?

Not eligible David. The legislation specifically excludes AMs who are Councillors from being the beneficiary of this scheme. I thought you would know that seeing as the AM you work for chairs the Local Government Committee :-)).

It had already occurred to me. Must engage brain before posting comments in future!!
